Welcome to 4th Grade!
Welcome to Room 17 at Barron Park Elementary School. We have spent this week getting to know each other, taking placement tests, and beginning to explore our 4th grade curriculum. You will find a few work samples in your childs Friday Envelope. Please help your child remember to return the empty envelope on Tuesday. The work samples are for you to keep.
Transition
The transition between 3rd and 4th grade is often challenging for students and parents. This year your child is experiencing both a longer school day and a larger class. Here are a few things to think about to make the transition successful for your child:
Back to School Night
Back-to-School Night for 4th grade will be on Tuesday, September 11th. Fourth grade parents will meet in Room 17 from 6:30-7:15 p.m. Mrs. Howard will speak in the MP Room to all parents from 7:20-7:40 p.m. Please try to come. I will preview the coming year and present our first California project. I am looking forward to meeting you all.
District PE
Fourth grade students will participate in the District PE program on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. To ensure the success and safety of all students, PE teachers require students to wear appropriate clothing and shoes on those days. Shoes must cover the entire foot, have rubber soles, and be secured with laces or Velcro. Sandals, slip-ons, or shoes with platforms or heels higher than one inch will not be allowed. Students not in appropriate PE attire will be given a written assignment and will not be allowed to participate in the PE activity. Our first PE class will be on Tuesday 4th.
