by Kiyoshi and Elizabeth Draw a vertical line about 1/5 from the top right-hand corner down to the bottom right-hand corner. Then draw a line about 1/8 from the bottom right-hand corner to the bottom left hand corner. There is a black line that makes a triangle that is divided almost in half, and the triangle on the right side is bigger. Now we are going to explain the colors. We told about all the shapes, and the rest of the space is white. The triangle on the top left-hand corner is divided. The right side is light gray and the left side is olive green. The small rectangle in the right hand corner is red, and the big right hand side is light gray. The rectangle on the bottom of the painting is light gray. |
by Kiyoshi and Elizabeth The name of our painting is "Contre composition simultanée." It is oil on canvas painted by Theo van Doesburg in 1929. It is now hanging in San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The size is 19 inches by 19 inches. You got the colors right. The green was blended nicely. The shapes were right, we could tell that you used a ruler. We should have said that the triangle is in the top left hand corner. It seems that you guys didn't follow all our directions. When we said 1/8 you accidentally did 1/27 and when we said 1/5 you did a little over 1/7. Other than that you did great. |
