Portrait of Me

Description of My Portrait

Portrait of Me

recreated by Jamie

I chose to use the style of Vincent van Gogh. First get 12 x 18 inch paper. You will need pastels in these colors: green, yellow, red, pink, black, orange, brown, and skin color.

Use your ruler to measure 4 and 1/2 inches down, then start the head. It is 9 inches long going down and 7 inches going across. The color is skin color. The top 1 and 1/2 inches is hair. The hair color is black and brown. One inch under the hair are the eyes. Make 2 circles 2 inches apart. Make 2 small black dots in each circle. Then put brown and yellow in each. Then draw eyebrows above the eyes. In the center is the nose. Make it with skin color, with the nostrils in black. The mouth is 1 and 1/2 inches under the nose. Make it in red. It is like a volcano. One inch up from the lips and 2" each side of the center are the cheeks. Make the cheeks red. Right under the hair and on either side of the head make ears with skin color

Now the body: Under the head, make a neck in orange. Then make shoulders and a coat. Then put black lines on the coat.

The background is green with red lines. There are yellow and skin color stars.

Analysis

by Marek

I think what worked well were the eyes, because my partner had the colors right. The background had everything correct as far as color goes. The face had everything well done except the cheeks. Everything else was correct.

I think what did not work well was the mouth, cheeks, suit, and the ears. I should have described those places with more detail. The rest was great!
