Portrait of Me

Description of My Portrait

by LiAnn

Portrait of Me

recreated by Ryan

The portrait is in the style of Georges Rouault, who painted his pictures in profile. You will need the colors green, blue (both light and dark), red, pink, yellow, purple, orange, black, a paint brush, and white 11 by 17 inch paper. DO NOT use watercolors.

I have a blue shirt with pink, purple, yellow, and green polka dots on it at the bottom center of the paper. My head is 10 inches long and 7 inches wide. My eye is looking towards the top of the paper. I am in profile facing the left side of the paper. My mouth is half open, half out. My face is sort of a creamy orange. My hair goes straight down to my shoulder. The color is black and purple. But it is MAINLY black! And, I have bangs.

The background has two mountains. The ground and the mountains are green. There is a yellow moon in the top left-hand corner. The sky is dark and light blue.

Analysis

by LiAnn

I think that my partner did a good job on which way I was facing, which was profile to the left side of the paper. The two mountains were in the right spot, and they were nicely painted. He drew good mountains. I think that my partner, who was Ryan, had trouble controlling the paints because they were all mixed-up. Anyway, he did a good job. It was a little blurry, but he still drew it well.

I did not tell him that he should not have made the colors on my shirt only one color Oh well, I should have did a better job describing that part. I also should have told him that the polka dots were ROUND. I also should have told him not to mix the colors. I described the eye, but he didn't put it in. Either that or he covered it with paint. I think he did a good job.
