Portrait of Me

Description of My Portrait

by Devon

Portrait of Me

recreated by Angel

My portrait is in the style of Georges Rouault. You will need paint, and paper exactly 11" x 17" placed vertically. The colors are dark blue, light blue, magenta, black, green, yellow, red, and purple. All the shapes are outlined in black.

The head is about ten inches long, and 6 inches wide, beginning at the right hand edge of the paper, three inches up from the bottom, and facing left. The face is a mix of yellow, red, orange, and a little bit of green. I am wearing a purple and blue crown with three points. My mouth is a straight line. My shirt is green and my yes are black and pointed down.

The sun has a mixture of all the colors as a hat, and is between two green mountains which fill most of the space to the left of the head. The ocean starts at the bottom, goes four inches up, and is a mix of both blues. A crescent shape 3" wide at the left side, l" at the center, and 1 and 1/2" wide at the right covers the top of the paper, and represents the window through which I am looking. It is painted with green, black, and yellow mixed together, outlined with black at the bottom. The remaining space is sky.

Analysis

by Devon

I think that my partner did the water well, because it was the right size. Angel made my neck the right size, and the shirt was pretty good.

I should have explained my crown colors better, and that it was supposed to be a profile portrait. I could have made the descriptions about the colors in the green, the sun, the sky, and my face more clear. I also could have said that I have a nose. I think that if my partner had more time, the picture would be much nicer.
