Warning: read all directions before you begin. This portrait was painted in the style of Georges Rouault. This paper is 11'' by 17'', and is vertical. The portrait is a profile.
To paint this portrait, you will need paints. The colors you will need are blue, light blue, green, light green, purple, red, orange, yellow, black, and magenta.
In the middle of the portrait, there is the head. It is the same size as the torso. It is the middle third. The head is four inches wide and 6 and one half inches long. The nose is pointy and in the middle. The neck is like a square that is two and one half inches by two inches. The hair is an inch back behind the face. The hair is 2" wide at the bottom, and ends at the shoulder. There are bangs. The skin colors are orange, yellow, and green. One centimeter above, and to the right of the end of the chin, is a circle 1" by 1" that is skin color mixed with yellow and red. Two inches down from the top of the head, and one cm to the right is the one cm by one and one half cm lengthwise eye. The iris is blue and light blue. The hair goes down 1" below the neck. The colors are yellow, orange, and green. Put in a lot of yellow. When you are finished, to separate the hair and skin, draw a black line all around the border of the hair.
The hat is the top third of the paper, right on top of the head, one cm down from the top of the paper. It is a square, 5" by 5". At the bottom in the middle, there is a 2" high triangle part of the crown. For the rest of the crown, draw four 1" high triangles. In the center of every other triangle is a red and magenta oval. The crown colors are yellow, green, and orange. The rest of the hat has black and red stripes. They are an inch apart. The black lines are half of a cm thick, and the red and magenta is 1" thick.
The torso is a red, orange, and magenta square, on the bottom third of the paper. It is more of a rectangle than a square.
Taking up half of the paper, is the grass. It is yellow, light green, and green. On the left side, one cm down from the top of the grass, is a tree. The wavy circle for the leaves is 2" all around. The stump is 1" wide and one and one half inches lengthwise. To get to the brown for the stump, dip your brush in purple, then yellow. For the leaves, do yellow and green. In the upper half paint two brown 5" high mountains. In the gap between them draw a yellow and orange circular sun. All around it is light blue, and blue sky. Now outline everything in black. Right above the right side of the crown part of the hat, on the outside of it, is a 1" wavy cloud. You can only see half of it because the other half is behind the hat. At the very top left side of the hat, is a 2" by 2" wavy cloud. Two inches down from the top of the paper in the top right hand corner is a one and one half by one inch cloud. The cloud colors are light green and light blue. |
Analysisby DaisyThere were many wrong things, some of which I didn't describe well, or Jackie didn't get. For one thing, she didn't draw the painting a profile, which was the main reason most things were wrong. The pink cheek was drawn, but there was only one so it looked sort of funny. One thing I did wrong was to forget to describe the mouth. She didn't draw one. Another thing is the background. I don't think she got to finish it. She only did one cloud, and it was the color the sky was supposed to be. The hat was also too small. She didn't do the stripes the right way, but that was my mistake. She did the torso checkered when it was supposed to be plain magenta. My face was a little too green, and I didn't have any bangs. Otherwise, everything else is SUPER! I would really like to compliment Jackie for the great work she did. I understand that this was a lot of hard work. |
