by Sara and Brian R. These are the directions to paint this painting. This is a horizontal rectangular painting. Starting on the top left corner going across to the right top corner, make a tan border that is 1/24 of the whole painting. Start at the top and go around the whole painting. There are eleven horizontal rows of colors within the tan rectangle. The first and the last rows are pink. They are each about 1/8 of the height of the whole painting. The second row from the top is red-orange. It is about 1/16 of the height of the painting. The third row is red. It is 1/9 the height of the painting. Within the tan border and around the third row to the eighth row there is a purple border about the same size as the tan border. The fourth row is brown and the same size as the first row. These next rows make a rectangle in the middle of the painting and dont go all the way across. The left half of the fifth row is red and the right half is purple. The left half of the sixth row is purple and the right half is dark green. The purple part is a little bigger than the dark green part. The seventh row is orange on the left and brown on the right. On the left and right sides of the center rectangle are brown rectangles. These brown rectangles are about 1/8 the width of the painting. The eighth row is red on the right and brown on the left. On the left of this row is a small rectangle 1/8 the width of the painting. Color it red. This painting is trickyread each sentence carefully! Good luck. |
by Brian R. and Sara Erick and Kingston, you did a really great job on the colors and shapes of our painting. We could have included that the 5th row to 9th is in the middle of the brown rectangle. It was hard for us to describe our painting, especially the middle part. We could have talked about the shapes more. Even though this painting is really hard, you did a good job. This painting is called Memento. It was made in 1943. Josef Albers painted this painting with oil on Masonite. It is 45.8 by 50.8 cm. It is in the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City. |
