Mystery Painting Description
by Kelsey and Anat

This picture looks like a lake. There is a whitish blue line in the middle. The mountain is blue, but it is a really light blue and it gets darker as it gets closer to the top. The mountains are not straight. The mountain line starts on the right side 1/3 of the upper half and gradually rises until it gets 1/4 of the way left. At that point the height of the line is 1/6 of the paper to the top. The mountain line has two little hills, then goes down, and then clear up to the end, leaving a space about 1/10 of the paper from the top.

The reflection is the same except that the mountain line is upside down and the sky is purple. The closer the sky is to the mountain line, the lighter the sky is.

We hope you will make this drawing successfully.

Analysis
by Anat and Kelsey

Some of our description was pretty obvious. You used good colors. The paper was the right way. You made a very nice reflection.

There were some things we could have described better. We should have said not to leave any white. We forgot to say that the white line does not reflect.

Lake George was painted by Georgia O’Keeffe with oil on canvas in 1922. It’s size is 16 1/4 by 22 inches. It is located in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
