Sim Earth - This is an excellent simulation of GAIA, the concept
that the Earth's systems are all interrelated and what changes in one

material includes general geology, the history of plate tectonics and is
interactive with hypercard
Windows on Science - Earth Science Vols. I, II, III - (Available at

Fire and Life: Mount St. Helens - (Available from Susan Howell at
Addison) This material features geology in the context of ecosystems on
Mt. St. Helens.
Local Field Trips
Los Trancos Trail (Page Mill Road above Foothill Park)
Pinnacles (40 miles south of Hollister)
Big Basin (streams and erosion) - Santa Cruz Mountains
Visit a steam bed such as San Francisquito Creek before and after
flooding to see changes due to erosion (removal) and sedimentation (addition)
