Geometric
Description
by Janine and Yang

We are going to describe a cool geometric named Evil Owl. You need four white skinny rhombuses, two green triangles, and two hexagons, four trapezoids, and three blue rhombuses. To build the head put two hexagon together and no points should be touching. Put one rhombus next the top of the hexagon, and one next to the bottom so that the hexagons look like eyes.

For the body take two trapezoids. One side should touch the rhombus so that it makes the widest space possible, red should not touch yellow. Do the same thing at the bottom, but don’t do the head. Then add the last remaining blue rhombus and put it at the bottom with two sides touching. There will be an empty diamond shape in the middle of the body.

For the wings, take two skinny white rhombuses. Put the first one on the long side of the belly, the top side of the trapezoid. Put another one under it so that there is no gap between the first white rhombus and the trapezoid. Do the same thing on the other side with the other two white rhombuses. For the feet ,take one green triangle and put it right next to the outside of the trapezoid. One side should be touching. Do the same thing on the other side. Now trace the outside of it.

Now you are done building Evil Owl, and are ready to color with your markers. For the eyes make a large hollow circle with brown. Make a big pupil (oval shaped) and make it connect to the top of the brown circle. Color the inside of the brown circle yellow. For the feathers, make connected ovals all over the head, the body and the wings. Color the wings tan. Color the body and head sandy tan, tan, and brown, leave some white. Scatter the feathers around the head and body. Don’t color the feet! The beak is just an acute triangle at the bottom of his face. Color the beak orange. For the collar make a red stripe across his neck. Make a thin line that’s blue in the middle of the red stripe. Color the triangle-feet sandy tan with two red marks on each of them. Make four talons on each foot/triangle. We hope you have fun recreating our geometric. Good luck!

Analysis

We knew instantly when our teacher held up the picture that it was Evil Owl. Some colors, the feathers, and most of the wings were right. The head shape was great and most of the collar was right. You had the right number of talons. The iris was good, as well as the color around the eye.

We didn’t describe everything very well. The body shape was supposed to be fatter and the wings needed to be longer. The pupil color was supposed to be black, the brown around the eyes was supposed to be a tad smaller, and the collar on the body was supposed to be a tad lower. At the top, the head should be a little less pointy. The beak should be horizontal with the point facing left. You did a good job.
