Description
by Elana Today you will be constructing the geometric Bio Brothers. You will need 1 triangle, 3 hexagons, 9 large parallelograms, 6 thin parallelograms, 6 trapezoids, 1 black fine line marker, 1 yellow marker, 1 brown marker, 1 red marker, 1 green marker, and 1 blue marker. To start, place one triangle in the center. Now place three hexagons around the triangle. Place two large parallelograms as shoulders under each hexagon so that they are not touching the triangle in any way. There should be space inbetween each set of shoulders. Make sure there are only six large parallelograms as shoulders in all. There will be more parallelograms but not as shoulders. Next put one parallelogram in between each set of shoulders so that there isn’t a gap. Repeat this step on each set of shoulders. Under each shoulder put one thin parallelogram. Place two trapezoids below the bigger parallelograms (the middle) as legs. Make sure there isn’t a gap between the legs. Trace the outline of the creation with black fine line marker. Color the heads and hands yellow. Add brown hair where the triangle was. Make uneven eyes. Make a red shirt with a green collar. Color the shorts blue and add parallel lines for elbow marks. Don’t forget an open mouthed smile! I hope you have a good time re-creating Bio Brothers. |
Analysis
by Elana I recognized Bio Brothers immediately when my teacher held it up. The overall shape is correct. When there was a color it was usually the right one. I think I should have put more emphasis on “one eye is taller than the other eye.” I think I should have verified that no large parallelograms (or any parallelogram for that matter) were supposed to touch the triangle. I think you did a great job making Bio Brothers. |
