by Cindy and Guy Let us tell you how to make a painting using three rectangles. Our painting is three rectangles on a light gray (with mostly white) background. The red and blue rectangles are the same size. The yellow one is longer and narrower. The red rectangle is in the bottom left corner. There is a little background showing. The short side of the rectangle is all the way to the bottom of the painting. The blue rectangle is in the top right corner. The short side almost touches the top but a little background showing. All the sides have to have background. The yellow rectangle is in the top left corner. The yellow has a little bit of brown in it to make it almost golden. It goes horizontally until it almost touches the blue rectangle. Thanks for reading our instructions. |
by Guy and Cindy Hello Josh, Austin, and Steven! We enjoyed seeing your painting. These are things that went well. The red and blue rectangles' colors are good. All the rectangles' sizes are fine. All the sizes are really close to the correct size. We should have said to be careful to make straight lines. There is light gray background showing around all sides of all three rectangles, except the bottom of the red rectangles. Our painting was made by Tony Smith in 1962. It is 5 feet 4 inches by 7 feet 10 1/2 inches. It is oil on canvas. It is in the Tony Smith Estate in New York. |
