Mystery Painting Description
by Harpinder and Tony

Here's how you can paint like Georgia O'Keeffe. First, make a little yellow circle 2/5 from the top left side. The background is light gray. It should look like the yolk of a hard-boiled egg with a white dot in center. Leave a tiny space around the yellow circle. Use light brown and paint a brown circle around the yellow circle. Leave a tiny space and make a thick orange half-circle, like a smile, 3/4 around the brown circle. The ends of this orange smile touch the top of the paper. Paint a thick red half circle (another smile!) around the orange circle. Put a big thick red line under the red circle and connected to it. It goes straight to the right side of paper. Paint another line the same size, but very dark blue. Now make a very dark green line the same size, but when it's about to end, join it with the blue line. It reminds us of a snail on a stick. Good luck!

Analysis
by Tony and Harpinder

Recreating a painting is difficult. These are the things that went well. The colors and the shapes are good. The red was the right color and the shape of the yellow circle was good. The little circle was the right size. The part where it looks like a snail was very good.

There are some things we could improve on. We should have told them that the painting was horizontal and to make the orange skinnier. We should have said that the red is thicker than the orange and that the blue does not touch the red.

The real painting was by Georgia O'Keeffe. The title is Evening Star. It was made in 1917. She used watercolors on paper. The size is 9 by 12 inches. It is at a museum called The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
