by Ariele and Alison This is how our painting looks. It is a horizontal rectangle. The top fifth is purple mixed with white, it should be really light, and the border is kind of sand color. Then there is a yellow square that takes half of the paper. The line in the middle of the purple and the yellow rectangles only goes half way across the top of the big yellow square. It is red-orange and it is on the left-hand side. The border of the yellow square is sand color. It is very thin. The last rectangle at the bottom is orange. The line between the yellow and the orange rectangles is white. The border of the orange rectangle is red, do it really light. Good luck drawing our picture. We can't wait to see it! |
by Alison and Ariele Our painters did a lot of things right. Now we are going to tell them to you. They got all the colors right and also the colors of the borders. Another thing they did right was the size of the orange rectangle. The size of the white line was correct because it took half of the top of the yellow rectangle. And they did the white line in the middle of the orange and yellow squares. Our painting was a little hard to explain so there are some things we can improve on. We should have said the painting was vertical and the red outline was thin. The top looks more like a 3rd than a 5th and the yellow square looks more like a 3rd than a half. We should have made our description longer and should have written more details. The real painting is called Number 7. It is made with oil on canvas. It was painted by Mark Rothko in 1951. It is 94 by 54 1/2 inches big and they keep it in the Sarah Campbell Blaffer Foundation in Houston, Texas. |
