by Rachel and Nora Here are directions for making this painting. Our painting is shaped like a rectangle. The setting looks like a thin sky, then a mountain and a lake. The four first lines after the mountain blend a bit in a huge part of the painting. At the top is a very thin, long, horizontal line of sky blue. Then under that is a dot of blue in a lot of white. Below that is a sort of bumpy shape close to the top at the upper left-hand corner. Then it goes down; it looks like a mountain, and is dark blue and goes to the other side. Beneath that is a medium-long line of blue. Then paint a broad, long line of light blue. Under that is a thick, long line of whitish-blue. After that is a long thin line of dark-blue with a dot of green. Then is a very slender long line of blue. After that is a very thin line of white which blends into some blue. After that is a navy blue green color, then a lake shape of blended whitish blue that is mostly blue. Under that is white and lavender on the very bottom of the painting. Good Luck! |
by Nora and Rachel These are the good things you did. You got most of the colors right. You made stripes. You sort of got the shape right. These are the things that we could improve on. We should have said the painting went horizontally. We didn't describe the curves. The name of the painting is Lake George by Georgia O'Keeffe. It can be found in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. It is oil on canvas and is 16 1/4 by 22 inches. |
