Mystery Painting Description
by Julien and Chen

Hi, can you draw our painting? If you think you can, let's see how well can you do! Our design looks like a target and has four sections. Each section is 1/4 of the target. There are six lines in each section except the middle that is the bull's eye. Each section is 1/4 of the whole target. The six other layers are exactly the same width. It will take you a little bit more than half a paper to draw it and you leave the rest of the paper white.

On the top right corner, the first blank line is dark blue. The second one is dark green. The next one is dark red. The fourth one is a dark turquoise. The fifth line is gold. The sixth one is dark blue again. And the next one is 1/4 of the bull's eye and it's red. In the section in the top left corner, the first color is maroon. The second color is dark orange. The third one is beige. The fourth one is maroon again. The fifth is sky blue. The sixth one is maroon with a lot of white, and the 1/4 of the bull's eye is red. In the bottom left section the first stripe is dark red. The second one is blue like your blue crayon. The third stripe is dark green. The fourth one is red. The fifth one is a mix of pink and white. The sixth stripe is orange and the 1/4 of the bull's eye is blue. In the bottom right corner, the first stripe is dark orange. The second one is pink. The third stripe is black. The fourth one is the exact same color. The fifth one is orange. The sixth one is green and the bull's eye is dark blue. Now that you know how our design looks, Good luck!

Analysis
by Chen and Julien

Our partners at Walter Hays did a pretty good job painting our design. They got the shape of the design right and they got most of the color right in the bull's eye.

There were some things we could have explained more carefully. We could have told them that all of the target was colored. We could have told them that the red color was on top and the blue color was at the bottom of the bull's eye. We also could tell them to put six rows in each layer. We could tell them that the top line is what we meant by our first line, the outer-most circle.

Our painting's name is First Disc by Robert Delaunay. The size of the painting is 53 inches in diameter. The media was oil on canvas. It was painted in the year 1912. It is located in a private collection in Switzerland.
